I’m not sure if telling Dan is a good move or not, so for the moment we won’t say anything. Even telling Greg was a risk, but he was there when Paul had a flashback to his attack in the lodge during the last trip. I thought he’d understand and help keep things under control.
When we first planned this trip, I thought Paul’s concern for Greg was just an excuse to get me out of the office and back up here at the snow. I’m beginning to realise that it was anything but that. Paul is extremely slow to trust people, and I was surprised at how quickly he took to Greg. He’s equally developed a very quick dislike of Dan, but he doesn’t seem to be able to articulate why. He just says he has a gut feeling.
I’m taking Paul on faith that Dan’s gay, because I don’t see it myself, but my gaydar has always been broken.
I’m going to keep my fingers crossed. Last trip ended with Rob and Diane fighting. They’ve made up since then, but it made for a stressful trip. I don’t want this one to end up as a fight between Paul and Dan, with Greg being caught in the middle.
