Greg means well, but he’s still young. From what Diane has told me, he’s never been in a serious relationship.
Yes, Diane and I are causing each other so much pain because we’re so deeply in love with each other. What Greg fails to realise, is that this also means that we are able to cause enough pain to destroy the relationship.
Love increases the pleasure and joy we have together, but it also amplifies the knife wounds when we hurt the one we love. What I don’t know is whether or not I have stabbed Diane so deeply that the love is going to die.
It takes two people to hold a relationship together. Diane is hurting me, but now that I have had a chance to think about it, I’ve made my decision; she won’t force me away. If we fail as a couple, it will be because Diane has said she wants it to end. I won’t be the one to kill it.
She’s still the one I want to marry.
